The Cancer Biology Division faculty endeavor investigative work at the interface of cancer and radiation biology.  Embodied within this scope are faculty programs which span the range from basic science to translational therapeutics.  Our mission, thus, addresses three broad mandates:

  1. Investigative basic biology;
  2. Traineeship; and
  3. Translation.

Our technology-based efforts provide an inter-disciplinary framework which fosters campus-wide linkages.  In addition, a culture of dynamic physician-to-scientist cross-talk links the CBD faculty to other faculty within the Department of Radiation Oncology.  These themes are fully consonant with the translational ethos which exploits supportive infrastructure to realize bench-to-bed transition of discovery science.
